Job Overview

The Tanker Truck Detailer is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and maintaining the appearance of tanker trucks and related equipment to ensure a professional image, support food-grade or industrial cleanliness standards, and contribute to the safe operation of the fleet. This role involves interior and exterior cleaning, tank washing support, equipment inspections, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

Vehicle Cleaning & Detailing

- Wash, clean, and detail the exterior surfaces of tanker trucks, trailers, and related fleet equipment.
- Clean and sanitize truck interiors, including cabs, dashboards, windows, seats, and floors.
- Remove dirt, grease, road salt, stains, and other contaminants from vehicles and equipment.
- Apply cleaning products, wax, and protective coatings as required.
- Polish aluminum, chrome, and stainless steel surfaces to maintain a professional appearance.

Tank and Equipment Cleaning

- Assist with tanker washouts and cleaning procedures following company and regulatory standards.
- Operate pressure washers, cleaning systems, and related detailing equipment safely.
- Ensure tanks, fittings, hoses, and accessories are cleaned and maintained according to operational requirements.
- Follow food-grade, chemical, or environmental cleaning protocols where applicable.

Inspection & Reporting

- Conduct basic visual inspections of vehicles during the cleaning process.
- Report damage, leaks, safety concerns, mechanical defects, or maintenance requirements to supervisors.
- Ensure safety equipment, decals, and identification markings remain clean and visible.

Facility Maintenance

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of wash bays, detailing areas, and equipment.




- Properly store cleaning supplies and maintain inventory levels.
- Dispose of waste materials in accordance with environmental and company procedures.

Health & Safety

- Follow all workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Support a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in vehicle detailing, truck washing, fleet maintenance, or industrial cleaning is considered an asset.
- Experience operating pressure washers and cleaning equipment is an asset.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders and access elevated areas of tanker trucks safely.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.

Working Conditions

- Work is performed in wash bays, maintenance facilities, and outdoor environments.
- Exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures.
- May require early morning, evening, weekend, or overtime work based on operational needs.

Performance Expectations

- Maintain fleet cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Complete detailing assignments efficiently and safely.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Contribute to a professional image of the organization through consistent quality workmanship.

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 44.0 per week
