Assistant Store Manager

Full-time: 35–40 hours per week

$21/hour plus tips

Goods is an independent wellness store, organic smoothie bar, and coffee shop. We are looking for an experienced people manager to lead our small team and oversee day-to-day store operations.

Previous experience directly managing employees is required. Applications without demonstrated people-management experience will not be considered.

This is a hands-on working manager position, not a key-holder or administrative role. The Assistant Store Manager works alongside the team, including preparing ingredients, blending smoothies, serving customers, cleaning, and completing daily store tasks. At the same time, they are responsible for actively directing employees, delegating work, enforcing standards, and addressing performance concerns.

The successful candidate must be comfortable initiating coaching conversations, giving clear corrective feedback, documenting concerns, requiring retraining, and holding employees accountable. This role is not suitable for someone who is uncomfortable directing peers, addressing underperformance, or having difficult workplace conversations.

Responsibilities

- Prepare ingredients and make smoothies accurately, efficiently, and consistently
- Direct employees and assign priorities throughout each shift
- Monitor performance and ensure tasks and operating standards are followed
- Coach employees, correct performance issues, require retraining, and document concerns
- Maintain bar preparation,



customer service, cleanliness, food-safety, and store standards
- Manage sick calls, shift coverage, and approved schedule adjustments
- Handle customer concerns, refunds, cash, and company email
- Oversee supplies, inventory needs, task completion, and operational follow-up
- Escalate serious, repeated, or owner-level matters appropriately

You must have

- Previous experience directly managing employees
- Experience coaching employees and addressing performance concerns
- Confidence giving direction, delegating work, and holding others accountable
- The willingness to prepare and blend smoothies and complete regular floor duties
- Strong judgment, organization, communication, and follow-through
- The ability to lead while actively working in a fast-paced customer-service workplace
- Availability for a consistent full-time schedule, including opening, closing, and weekend shifts as required

Retail, food-service, smoothie-bar, café, or wellness-industry experience is an asset.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
