As a Nurse Next Door Caregiver, your role is to Make Lives Better by:

- Placing each client’s safety, comfort, well-being, and overall quality of life at the centre of the care you provide
- Demonstrating empathy, patience, compassion, and a sincere desire to help others
- Using strong problem-solving skills to provide practical and thoughtful support
- Following through on responsibilities while building trusted relationships with clients and team members
- Consistently delivering high-quality care and exceeding expectations, including when working independently

Key Responsibilities:

- Preparing meals, completing light housekeeping duties, providing companionship, and assisting with personal care




- Delivering services according to the individualized care plan developed by the Care Designer
- Supporting clients with Activities of Daily Living within the permitted scope of a non-registered care provider
- Maintaining a safe home environment and ensuring equipment is used properly and safely
- Assisting clients with mobility, transfers, and prescribed exercises
- Carrying out all responsibilities safely and confidently within your training, abilities, experience, and level of competence
- Completing all required documentation and records accurately and within established timelines

Availability:

- Flexible availability is required
- Both part-time and full-time opportunities may be available
- Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnight care, and weekends, as care services are provided 24 hours a day

Caregiver Requirements:

- Two professional references
- Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
- Current enrolment in or completion of a caregiver, Personal Support Worker, or related education program
- A transparent criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening completed within the past 12 months
- A negative tuberculosis test completed within the past two years
- Valid documentation confirming relevant health care qualifications

Experience:

- supportive care: 1 year (required)

Language:

Licence/Certification:

- Negative TB Skin Test or Chest X Ray (<2 years old) (preferred)
- NACC-licensed PSW program (Optional) (preferred)
- G2 or G Driving Licence (preferred)
- Criminal Record/Vulnerable Screening Sector ( <1 Year) (preferred)
