Mercasa Little Italy Eatery & Catering is looking for an experienced Prep Cook to support our eatery and catering kitchen. We prepare a wide range of dishes in house, from fresh sauces and pasta to catered meals and events. This role is suited to someone who works efficiently, stays organized, and cares about doing the basics well.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and dishes according to recipes and daily production needs
- Wash, cut, portion, label, and store ingredients properly
- Assist with preparation for restaurant service and catering events
- Keep prep areas clean, organized, and stocked
- Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Communicate with the kitchen team to meet production deadlines
Requirements
- Previous professional prep cook or kitchen experience
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality
- Good organization and the ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen
- Open availability for shifts throughout the week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
