What You’ll Do
As a Nurse, you’ll play a crucial role in the overall supervision of the client’s health status and stages of withdrawal, including:

- ongoing physical and psychosocial assessment;
- direct client care;
- medication administration and teaching;
- provision of timely information related to addiction issues and the transition; and,
- stabilization stages of recover and care plan development.

You have strong communication skills and can handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and empathy.

Qualifications and Experience

- Psychiatric Nursing Diploma/Registered Nurses with current registration with Saskatchewan Registered Nursing Association or Saskatchewan Registered Psychiatric Nursing Association.
- Minimum of three years clinical experience working directly in Addictions and Mental Health field with knowledge of the principles of the Saskatchewan Model of Recovery.
- Knowledge of addiction treatment, recovery processes, and mental health services.

Skills and Attributes

- Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing practices.
- Strong understanding and execution of medication management and administration for clients withdrawing from substances.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Compassionate, proactive, and resilient in high-stress situations.

Preferred but Not Required

· CPR

· Professional Assault Response Training (PART)

· Mental Health First Aid

· Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

· WHMIS
