Dream is looking for a Fund Accountant

We are always looking for the best and brightest to join our thriving community. Dream’s Fund Accounting team is currently looking for a Fund Accountant to take charge of the full accounting cycle and ad hoc projects for our private real estate investment fund and its related management companies.

What will you do?

Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role. There will be more, but we can discuss those in person.

- Prepare and process capital calls, cash flow analysis to ensure sufficient weekly fund liquidity, maintain audit-compliant cash transactions back-ups and prepare bank reconciliations;
- Maintain fund-level and management companies journal entries in the in-house accounting system
- Consolidate property/development accounting reports, calculate management fees, performance fees and investor allocations, prepare the quarterly shadow reports, review 3rd party administrator net asset value packages.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and ASPE, and prepare quarterly due diligence questionnaires
- Prepare working papers documenting ratio and fluctuation analysis and supporting calculations needed in the quarterly portfolio management reports.




- Work closely with external auditors during interim and annual internal controls and financial audits.
- Prepare compliance working papers to lenders.
- Support team members and other departments as required.
- Training will be provided.

What type of experience should you have?

These are only some of the things we’d like you to bring to the table. We can cover the rest when we meet.

- 2 years of experience in Fund Accounting
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with JD Edwards an asset.
- A self-starter. Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, plan ahead, commit and deliver within the set time frames. Ambition to learn and grow professionally.
- Strong skills in task-prioritization and multitasking. Being able to switch gears among various ongoing tasks, while understanding the priorities.
- Strong people skills. A team player with a proven ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization as well as with external parties such as vendors, auditors, and business partners.
- Strong communication skills. Demonstrated in written and verbal reports and meeting participation.

This is a regular, full-time position with a base salary range of $65,000–$75,000. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible for a performance-based bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes paid vacation and personal days, flexible benefits, mental health resources, access to perks and discounts, professional development support, and team-building and social events.

Compensation is determined based on several factors, including relevant experience, total years of experience, industry experience, education, and professional designations. We recognize that exceptional talent doesn’t always fit neatly into a bracket. Final compensation will be tailored to your specific experience, skills and the unique value you bring to the table. If your qualifications exceed the scope of this role, we may be open to adjusting the mandate – and the salary – to reflect that expertise.
