Job Overview

We are hiring a skilled Welder on behalf of our client, a well-established fabrication shop located north of Edmonton and within commuting distance of St. Albert and northwest Edmonton. The company specializes in structural steel fabrication for the oil and gas industry and offers long-term, steady work in a busy shop environment.

We are looking for someone with hands-on welding and fabrication experience who takes pride in producing quality work and working safely as part of a team.

Responsibilities

- Complete MIG and FCAW welding on structural steel components
- Build and assemble fabricated parts based on project drawings and specifications
- Read and work from blueprints, shop drawings, and technical information
- Use common fabrication equipment, including power tools, plasma cutting equipment, and press brakes
- Assist with material handling, rigging, and overhead crane work as needed
- Take measurements and complete fabrication work with a strong focus on accuracy
- Work closely with other shop employees to keep projects moving and meet deadlines
- Follow established safety procedures and keep the work area organized

What We're Looking For

- Previous welding and fabrication experience, ideally within structural steel, manufacturing, or construction
- Hands-on experience with MIG and FCAW welding




- Strong ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings
- Comfortable working with fabrication tools and equipment
- Previous exposure to rigging and assembly work
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence working with measurements
- Good understanding of shop and welding safety practices

The successful candidate will be reliable, safety-minded, and comfortable working in a hands-on shop environment. They will take pride in the quality of their work, pay close attention to detail, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
