Role Description The Accountant role at Annex Mechanical Installations is a full-time, on-site position based in Vaughan, ON. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking.

Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining accurate records for audits and compliance. The role will also involve preparing and reviewing invoices, monitoring project-related costs, supporting payroll processes, and collaborating with project managers to ensure financial data is timely and accurate.



The Accountant will work closely with management to provide financial insights that support decision-making and help maintain efficient, compliant financial practices.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in general accounting, including general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and billing processes in a corporate or contractor environment.
- Proficiency with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar), and solid Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
- Ability to prepare financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, and assist with audit and tax documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and basic understanding of Canadian tax and payroll regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with project managers, operations staff, and senior leadership.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA or working toward CPA) is an asset.
- Experience in construction, mechanical contracting, or a similar project-based industry is considered an advantage.
