Role Description The Adult Education Teacher will deliver occupational health and safety training courses to adult learners on-site in Nova Scotia, Canada. This full-time role includes planning and facilitating classes, adapting teaching approaches to different group sizes and learning styles, and ensuring that course content aligns with current regulations and best practices. The teacher will prepare instructional materials, provide clear demonstrations and explanations of safety procedures, and assess learner progress through quizzes, practical evaluations, and feedback.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate training records,



collaborating with other trainers and consultants, and supporting a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

- Strong Teaching and Education skills, with experience instructing adult learners in classroom or workplace settings.
- Curriculum Development and Writing skills to design, update, and document training materials and lesson plans.
- Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex safety concepts in clear, accessible language.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles and relevant regulations; experience with topics such as First Aid, Confined Space, Fall Protection, or Lockout/Tagout is an asset.
- Ability to facilitate groups of various sizes, manage classroom dynamics, and support an inclusive, respectful learning workplace.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in record-keeping and course administration.
- Comfort with using basic technology for presentations, scheduling, and learner assessments.
- Relevant post-secondary education in education, occupational health and safety, or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
