About the role
Insight is hiring an AI Product Manager to own the requirements and strategy function on client‑facing AI engagements in Canada. This is a billable delivery consultant role, embedded on account delivery teams alongside solution architects, AI engineers, and a dedicated delivery project manager, working across the full arc of an AI engagement: short pilot and prototyping work, planning and strategy engagements, and the larger builds that follow.
Job responsibilities include
- Leads requirements discovery with client stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and working sessions that translate a business problem into a defined, scoped AI use case.
- Designs and facilitates AI strategy sessions with client leadership, helping clients decide what to prioritize independent of any specific technical solution.
- Defines the business boundary and scope of the solution being built, and confirms that what the team delivers stays aligned to the business challenge behind the engagement.
- Owns use case refinement across the engagement lifecycle, turning an early idea into a scoped pilot, then into a planning and strategy engagement, then into a full build.
- Partners with the architects and engineers in the delivery pod to translate client requirements into technical scope, without owning the technical design. The pairing is deliberate: the product manager is never sent in alone to determine how a problem gets solved with AI.
- Communicates the agreed technical direction back to non‑technical client audiences, and stays involved through the build to keep the solution and the business requirements in alignment.
- Carries the client relationship and requirements context forward as an engagement progresses, so continuity is not lost at each hand‑off.
- Supports pre‑sales on request. Pre‑sales is not the primary responsibility, but solution architects or the practice lead may ask this role to lend expertise on a statement of work for a planning or strategy engagement.
What you’ll need to join Insight
- Approximately five to eight years in client‑facing consulting, product management, or business analysis roles. Candidates with less experience will be considered where they have done AI product management specifically and can clearly hold a business audience.
- Demonstrated experience running discovery workshops and eliciting business requirements from business users and turning ambiguous business problems into scoped requirements.
- Comfort working with executive leadership. A large share of this work is conducted with VP and C‑suite stakeholders, and the successful candidate is visibly at ease in a room with senior leaders.
- Ability to own requirements once elicited, holding enough understanding of them to support the technical team through the build rather than handing them over.
- Comfortable owning requirements and strategy without owning the technical solution directly.
- Robust consultative approach and communication skills.
- Prior consulting experience. Working across multiple client engagements is a skill in itself, and independent consulting counts. It is strongly preferred rather than mandatory.
- A background in business analysis or product management applied to AI,
data, or software delivery. AI experience is ideal; software product management transfers well.
- Familiarity with the current AI tooling landscape. Insight delivers heavily but not exclusively on Microsoft, alongside AWS and Anthropic. Exposure to Microsoft's AI ecosystem (Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, Agent 365), AWS AI ecosystem (Amazon Q, Amazon Bedrock) is welcome. Deep technical depth is not required.
- Experience bridging technical and non‑technical audiences, whether through solutions consulting, a business analyst to product transition, or similar.
