About the Role - Your main responsibilities will include:

- Safely operate heavy commercial vehicles (flatbeds, tractor-trailers or straight trucks) to deliver rebar orders to job sites on time according to dispatch schedules.

- Verify bundle counts and tags against Bill of Lading (BOL).

- Secure heavy steel loads using chains, straps, winches and tarps in compliance with transportation safety regulations.

- Coordinate with site superintendents and crane operators for protected positioning and unloading of steel materials on busy construction sites.

- Perform daily pre-trip, en-route and post-trip vehicle inspections.

- Report maintenance issues or defects immediately to dispatch/fleet management.

- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD), route sheets and delivery documentation.

- Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, provincial/state transport regulations and site-specific PPE requirements.

- Assist shop operators with rebar handling, bundle staging, material sorting and general shop organization when not scheduled for deliveries.

- Help with stock counts, verifying raw material, prepare accessories for loads.

- Maintaining the cleanliness of the truck (interior and exterior) and reporting any mechanical issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.

About You - The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

- 2 years of experience driving a truck;





- Must hold a valid AZ licence; Class 1 licence considered an asset.

- Strong commitment to workplace safety and defensive driving practices.

- Excellent time management, problem-solving and spatial awareness when navigating tight construction zones.

- Robust communication skills to interact professionally with yard staff, dispatchers and site crews.

- Brings enthusiasm, approachable energy and mutual respect when interacting with yard team members, dispatch and client site personnel.

- Stays calm and composed under pressure, addressing unexpected road conditions,

route delays, or site challenges with a constructive, can-do approach.

- Proudly represents the AGF Rebar brand on customer sites through courteous communication, clean professional appearance, and exceptional customer service.

- Demonstrates a flexible approach when schedule adjustments occur, working collaboratively with dispatch to keep deliveries moving smoothly.
