Business Analyst

About the role

ASBB Economics & Research Ltd is hiring a Business Analyst. This is a newly created position, ideal for a graduate or recent graduate looking to launch a career in economic and business analysis and consulting. In this role you will support and contribute to client deliverables, conduct research and analysis, and help grow the firm's consulting practice.

What you'll do

- Conduct economic and business research and analysis to support client projects
- Gather, clean, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from a range of sources
- Build and maintain spreadsheets, models, and datasets
- Prepare charts, tables, and summaries that translate data into clear insights
- Draft and contribute to high-quality client deliverables such as reports, briefs, and presentations




- Conduct literature reviews and background research on markets, industries, and policy topics
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and design, administer, and analyze surveys
- Support proposals and business development materials
- Communicate findings clearly to clients and internal team members
- Participate in client meetings and calls, and help prepare related materials
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines across multiple projects

Qualifications Education

- A master's degree in Economics is preferred
- A business degree, or a master's degree in the social sciences, will be considered equally acceptable

Skills and attributes

- Robust written and verbal communication
- Excellent client communication skills
- Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred
- Critical thinking
- Strong time management
- A valid driver's license is preferred

Location and work arrangement

- Remote for now, with the role based in Nova Scotia
- Preference for candidates located in Quebec or Toronto
- Candidates should have a willingness to relocate as the role transitions to in-person
- Some evening hours are required to meet client deliverable deadlines

Compensation

- Salary range: $42,000–$50,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience
