Position Details:

Department of Government Services - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador

Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Clerk IV is responsible for providing a high level of customer service to clients of the Government Service Centre. The incumbent will consistently demonstrate the core values of the Department including accountability, integrity and respect by providing exceptional customer service delivery; accept and process applications for a variety of programs; act as a single point of contact to ensure customer service needs are met; explain in detail to customers the requirements of various acts, regulations and government programs covering a wide variety of government services; collect revenue by cash, cheque, money order, credit or debit card for transactions processed and balance daily amounts collected plus any adjustments and authorized issues against the computer system total; prepare daily cashier deposit; respond to telephone and in-person inquiries from the general public and various client groups,



and will perform other related duties as required.

Screening Criteria

1. Completion of a two-year diploma in Office Administration (equivalencies will be considered)
2. Experience with administrative and clerical practices
3. Experience providing front-line customer service
4. Experience performing monetary transactions and reconciliation (asset)
