The Town of Lincoln is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented Communications and Community Engagement Advisor to join the creative and dynamic Corporate Communications Team. Reporting to the Manager of Communications and Community Engagement, the Communications and Community Engagement Advisor is responsible for developing and leading external and internal communications strategies, with the goals of providing clear and consistent communications, nurturing and expanding relationships with the Town’s audiences, growing communications opportunities, and strengthening existing communication tools – both traditional and digital. In addition, the Communications and Community Engagement Advisor will lead the implementation of the Town’s corporate social media program, assist in managing the Town’s website and public engagement platform, and support the creation, production, and distribution of digital and print products.

The Communications and Community Engagement Advisor will develop and lead high-quality communications programs and products, ensuring tone and brand alignment. A component of this role includes supporting teams across the organization with grant writing. This role also acts as the Alternative Emergency Information Officer on the Town’s Emergency Management Team.

The Successful Candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field




- At least 5-7 years experience as a Communications Specialist, Community Engagement Coordinator, or similar roles
- Proficient in traditional media relations and in the use of digital media strategies including various social media platforms
- Experience with website editing (using Content Management Systems)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to elicit information and answer inquiries.
- Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with design software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign) is an asset.
- Strong digital skills including knowledge of social media platforms and the social media landscape
- Excellent storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex information into impactful communications narratives
- Solid editing and researching skills
- Exceptional organization and time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks and respond rapidly to new events and competing priorities
- High level of attention to detail especially when reviewing documents
- Ability to multitask, learn quickly, and easily adapt to a changing environment
- Knowledge of AODA and Emergency Operations Centre training are assets.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy

Town of Lincoln offers an attractive, market-competitive salary, benefits and pension package, a progressive hybrid work environment, and career advancement opportunities. The salary for this position (based on a 35-hour work week) is $72,608.90 – $84,941.22.
