Data Tech Lead

Location: GTA, Ontario or Montreal, Quebec

Work Arrangement: Remote with occasional travel to the client office for meetings

Contract: 1 Year

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Tech Lead to provide technical leadership across multiple Data PODs. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Azure Data Engineering, Snowflake, and Databricks, along with experience leading large engineering teams and delivering scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership across multiple Data PODs and ensure engineering best practices.
- Design, develop, monitor, and optimize Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hubs, Logic Apps, and Databricks solutions.
- Architect and implement Snowflake components including storage integrations, stages, external volumes, Iceberg tables, clustering, search optimization, and energetic tables.
- Troubleshoot complex production incidents, system failures, and performance issues across Azure and Snowflake.
- Lead architecture and code reviews, environment governance, and deployment standards.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, partners, and internal teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead and mentor a 25+ member engineering team.
- Ensure compliance with security, architecture, and governance standards.
- Manage delivery timelines,



risks, releases, environment promotions, and operational readiness.
- Communicate technical progress and risks to senior stakeholders.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Event Hubs, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Databricks.
- Strong Snowflake experience, including Iceberg tables, external volumes, storage integrations, stages, clustering, search optimization, and dynamic tables.
- Strong SQL, Python, and PySpark skills.
- Experience with data ingestion, orchestration, and streaming architectures.
- Strong production troubleshooting and incident-resolution experience.
- Proven experience leading 25+ engineers.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Skills

- Azure DevOps / CI/CD and version control.
- Data modeling experience, including Dimensional Modeling and Data Vault.
- Data governance, data quality, and cloud security.
- Enterprise architecture and cloud governance experience.
- Experience with Azure Blob Storage and Snowflake Snowsight.

Location Requirement Candidates should be local to the GTA or Montreal and comfortable traveling to the client office when required.
