What is the Role?

WBM is seeking an experienced Deskside Operational Tier 2 resource to support a remote mining operation in Northern BC. This is a hands-on infrastructure and support role where you will serve as the primary onsite technical resource, supporting network, server, wireless, and end-user technologies in a camp-based workplace.

This is a Fly-In/Fly-Out position with a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, supporting critical technology systems, and thriving in a remote mining environment.

Please Note: Previous camp experience is required. Experience supporting mining, oil & gas, industrial, or other remote-site operations is strongly preferred.

What You Will Do

- Provide onsite technical support for infrastructure, networking, wireless, and end-user systems
- Support and troubleshoot Fortinet environments, including FortiGate firewalls and Forti Switches
- Manage and support SD-WAN connectivity
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot wireless networks and access points
- Perform Wi-Fi optimization, signal analysis, and wireless troubleshooting
- Support Dell server infrastructure and virtualization environments
- Assist with SAN and storage infrastructure
- Install and configure network, server, and infrastructure equipment
- Deploy and support UPS systems and Starlink solutions
- Complete structured cabling, equipment installations, and hardware deployments
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues across the site
- Act as the primary onsite technical resource and escalation point

What You Bring

- 5+ years of IT infrastructure, systems administration, networking, or field support experience
- MSP experience will also be considered

- Strong Fortinet experience, including FortiGate firewalls and FortiSwitches
- Networking knowledge including switching, routing, VLANs, VPNs, DNS,



and DHCP
- Experience supporting wireless environments and access point deployments
- Server hardware experience, preferably Dell infrastructure
- Virtualization experience required (Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration experience
- Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Previous mining, oil & gas, industrial, or remote-site experience strongly preferred
- Previous camp experience required

Certifications Considered an Asset

- Network+, Security+, Server+
- Fortinet Certifications
- MS-900, AZ-900
- Other networking, infrastructure, cloud, or security certifications
