Pay Range: $33–35/hr

Position Summary:

The Academy of Learning is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Assistant Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of the Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) program, providing students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to pursue careers in early childhood education. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in childcare and a desire to inspire the next generation of early childhood professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver course content and support students through classroom instruction, online platforms, and/or blended learning environments
- Assist in developing lesson plans, presentations, assessments, and hands-on activities aligned with program curriculum and learning objectives
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support student success through regular check-ins and academic support
- Encourage active student participation and maintain a supportive, inclusive learning environment
- Evaluate assignments and assessments in a timely and fair manner
- Provide support with practicum placement coordination, including site preparation and student readiness
- Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes in early childhood education
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in compliance with institutional and accreditation standards

Qualifications:





- A Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a registered institution in Canada with a minimum of five (5) years current working experience as an Early Childhood Educator in Canada and current membership in the provincial association for Early Childhood Educators.
- Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and student-centered instruction
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to use learning management systems (LMS) and online teaching tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
- Current First Aid/CPR certification and clear Vulnerable Sector Check (if required)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience or formal training in teaching adults is highly regarded.
