Commercial Electrical Estimator

Unitech Electrical Contracting is looking for an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator to join our growing team in Calgary, Alberta.

The Opportunity

As part of our pre-construction team, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of commercial electrical projects. You’ll work closely with our operations teams to ensure projects are priced properly and positioned for success.

Key Responsibilities

· Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, addenda, and tender documents

· Prepare detailed material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor estimates

· Perform accurate quantity takeoffs

· Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations

· Prepare competitive bids and tender submissions

· Identify project scope, exclusions, risks, and potential cost impacts

· Communicate with general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams

· Maintain estimating documentation and pricing information

· Assist with value engineering and alternate pricing where appropriate

· Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when required

· Coordinate with project managers and operations throughout the estimating and bidding process

What We’re Looking For

· 3+ years of experience estimating commercial electrical projects





· Strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction methods and materials

· Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications

· Strong understanding of Canadian electrical codes and construction practices

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

· Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines

· Strong communication and negotiation skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/takeoff software

· Experience with Accubid, Live Count, or similar estimating software is an asset

· Electrical trade experience, construction background is essential
