Position Title: Facilities and Compliance Supervisor

Position Profile and Description:

The Facilities and Compliance Supervisor has a unique chance to contribute as part of the operations team as well as implement systems and protocols under the Operations umbrella, ensuring the facility and equipment are well-maintained and working in a manner that manages regulatory risk. This position requires a hands-on approach, spending significant time on the manufacturing floor while also understanding the engineering behind various electromechanical equipment used throughout the facility. This role involves collaborating with manufacturing technologists producing finished goods and aiding in the development of custom solutions to suit unique problems.

You will also be leading or participating in corrective actions to continuously drive improvement initiatives, increasing efficiency and mitigating risk.

Duties, Responsibilities, Authorities:

Operations & Equipment Maintenance

- Develop and implement predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors on repairs, modifications, and process changes.
- Manage spare parts inventory, equipment contracts, and maintenance documentation (work orders, invoices, schedules).
- Create and interpret 2D/3D CAD drawings using software such as Solid Edge or Altium.
- Apply Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma principles to improve productivity, process efficiency, and safety.

Compliance

- Coordinating organization wide regulatory compliance procedures.




- Providing training in applicable compliance practices and procedures.
- Monitoring compliance and facilitating interventions to manage risks.
- Performing compliance audits and compiling reports.
- Documenting compliance-related processes and maintaining records.
- Managing the compliance audits, risk assessments, and gap analysis programs while reporting all findings to leadership
- Regulatory bodies include but are not limited to Chemical Weapons Convention, Fire Marshal, Environmental Emergency (E-2) Regulations, Explosives Acts – Restricted Components Regulations, Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act, OHSA & Applicable Regulations (WHMIS, GHS, NFC), Transportation and Handling of Dangerous Goods Act, Health Canada – Precursor Chemicals, Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) – ECA Annual Report, Ontario’s Hazardous Waste Program Registry, Toxic Reduction Act, Environment and Climate Change – Canada’s National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI Report).

Future Upgrades & Continuous Improvement

- Support equipment modifications, upgrades, and facility innovation projects.
- Contribute to capital equipment planning and long-term operational improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline.
- 2+ years’ experience in production engineering, equipment maintenance, or facility upkeep.
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and instrumentation systems.
- Experience in 2D/3D CAD Drawings using 3D software tools.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills to influence cross-functional teams.




- Working knowledge in regulatory and compliance assurance will be advantageous.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with EAM/CMMS preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and facilitate change management.
- Ability to understand and integrate complex, multidimensional systems spanning software, electromechanical components, gas and water distribution, HVAC airflow, fire safety, blueprint/schematics and electrical networks.
- Must successfully complete background check as Responsible Person in Charge (RPIC) for Controlled Substances or Class A Precursor.

Working Conditions:

- Primarily part of the production team with hands-on floor engagement.
- Ability to stand and move for 6–8 hours per shift.
- Must be able to lift upto 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently.
- Frequent bending, lifting, and repetitive movements.
- Comfortable working around industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Ability to work safely in confined spaces and adhere to LOTO procedures.
- Work schedule involves 8-hour shifts with flexibility during plant outages.
- Requires occasional overtime and weekend support as needed.
- Exposure to varying production environments with emphasis on safety protocols.
- Collaboration with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams onsite.

Compensation:

- Competitive compensation range: 65,000-75,000 CAD
