Role Description The Floorhand role is an in office position with work locations in Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan. This role supports rig operations by handling tubing, assisting with the rig-up and rig-down process, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Daily tasks include connecting and disconnecting pipe, operating rig floor equipment under supervision, and following instructions from the Rig Manager and Derrickhand to ensure efficient completion, workover, and abandonment activities.

The Floorhand is responsible for adhering to all safety policies, participating in safety meetings, and using personal protective equipment correctly.



The role also involves basic equipment care, reporting hazards or incidents promptly, and working in varying weather and field conditions as part of a team.

Qualifications

- Strong communication skills, including the ability to follow directions, report issues clearly, and work effectively within a rig crew.
- Experience or training related to completion and workover operations, or a willingness to learn these processes on the job.
- Ability to safely handle pipe and tubulars, including lifting, positioning, and connecting/disconnecting drill pipe and tubing.
- Basic understanding of service rig operations, or prior exposure to oilfield work in Western Canada.
- Commitment to ongoing training, including safety certifications and on-the-job skill development.
- Physical ability to perform demanding manual labor in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Prior experience, a safety-first mindset, knowledge of PPE use, familiarity with industry safety standards; and oilfield safety tickets (e.g., H2S, First Aid, CSO) are an asset.
