We're Hiring: Functional Safety Engineer (Junior / Intermediate / Senior) — SIL / IEC 61511

Watchmen Industrial is growing, and we're looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to join our team in Calgary. This role sits at the core of what we do — SIL determination, SIS design verification, and lifecycle compliance under IEC 61511 — supporting clients across the oil & gas, midstream, and chemical processing sectors.

What you'll be doing:

- Leading or supporting SIL/LOPA studies and SIF verification calculations
- Reviewing and developing Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS)
- Supporting SIS design, proof test interval development, and functional safety lifecycle documentation
- Working alongside our HAZOP facilitators and process safety team on integrated project deliverables
- Engaging directly with client engineering teams to close out action items and technical queries

What we're looking for:

- A background in instrumentation, controls, chemical, or process engineering




- Working knowledge of IEC 61511 / IEC 61508 and SIL verification tools (exida exSILentia, PDS, or similar)
- Junior to Senior candidates welcome — we scale responsibility to experience, from calculation support up through independent SIL study leadership
- P.Eng, , E.I.T., C.E.T., or working toward functional safety certification is an asset
- Solid communication skills — you'll be client-facing, not just behind a spreadsheet
