Role Description The General and Commercial Insurance Agent is a full-time, on-site role based in Sarnia, ON. In this position, the agent provides advice and solutions for general and commercial insurance needs, including property and casualty coverage, working directly with clients to understand their risks and recommend appropriate products. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to client inquiries, preparing quotes,



processing policy applications, endorsements, renewals, and claims-related documentation, and maintaining accurate client records.

The agent actively develops new business through prospecting, networking, and follow-up on leads, while supporting existing clients with ongoing policy reviews and coverage adjustments. Collaboration with team members and adherence to regulatory and company guidelines are essential to delivering consistent, high-quality service.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Insurance and Casualty Insurance, with an understanding of personal and commercial lines products and coverage.
- Candidates should possess skills in Insurance Brokerage and Sales, including prospecting, negotiation, and closing to grow and retain a client portfolio.
- Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to build relationships, handle inquiries professionally, and resolve issues effectively.
- Valid provincial insurance license (OTL), required.
- Experience in a brokerage or financial services environment are beneficial.
- Additional assets include robust communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, proficiency with office and insurance software, and the ability to work in a regulated, client-focused setting.

*Salary will be based on experience and licensing. Commissions and bonusing based on sales.
