What is the role all about?

The General Accountant is an integral member of faascloud as they will own the relationship with their clients while working closely with internal stakeholders as well. This person will help clients ease their financial needs by removing their current financial frustrations!

Key Responsibilities:

Client Onboarding & Tech Optimization

- Assist in diagnosing and rebuilding messy legacy data from newly signed clients into clean, scalable cloud structures.
- Leverage modern accounting tools (such as Xero, Dext, Float, Plooto and Wagepoint systems) to drive automation and eliminate manual entry workflow bottlenecks.

Full-Cycle Accounting, Operational Support & Month-End Close

- Own the month-end and quarter-end close processes for multiple assigned client accounts, ensuring strict deadline adherence.
- Maintain, clean, and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, corporate credit cards, and merchant processors.
- Oversee and streamline day-to-day accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) data flows.
- Prepare accurate balance sheets, income statements, and cash-flow trackers to give leadership and fractional CFOs a real-time snapshot of financial health.

Compliance & Reporting

- File monthly/quarterly sales tax (HST/GST/PST)

- Support client payroll workflows, verifying accurate coding and ensuring regulatory standards are met.
- Gather and systematically organize information required for year-end corporate tax filings and external financial reviews.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements):

- Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience. Experience coming from a public accounting firm, a Client Accounting Services (CAS) practice, or an agile startup environment is a massive asset.
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Currently pursuing or holding a CPA designation is highly preferred.
- Tech-Savy Mindset: Advanced proficiency with modern cloud tech stacks like Xero or QuickBooks Online, alongside receipt capture platforms (like Dext) and payroll systems. Exceptional Excel/Google Sheets skills are mandatory.
- Task Agility: Strong capacity to multi-task and seamlessly switch gears between different corporate clients, industries, and timelines in a single week.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English. You must be comfortable explaining numbers clearly to non-accountant client founders and team members.

Compensation range:

Between $62K and $72K annually.
