Role Description The Heavy Duty Cleaner is a full-time, on-site role located in Concord, ON, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the bakery and associated facilities. Day-to-day tasks include deep cleaning production areas, washing and sanitizing floors, walls, and equipment, and ensuring proper waste and recycling disposal. The role involves cleaning restrooms and staff areas, replenishing supplies, and regularly inspecting high-traffic zones to promptly address spills, debris, and potential safety hazards.

The Heavy Duty

Cleaner will use appropriate cleaning tools, chemicals, and machinery in accordance with safety guidelines,



and may assist with minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or reporting repair needs. This role works closely with bakery staff to support smooth operations, comply with food safety standards, and maintain cleanliness throughout shifts.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in heavy duty or industrial cleaning, preferably in a food production, restaurant, or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, pressure washers, and related tools.
- Understanding of basic workplace safety and hygiene practices, including WHMIS or equivalent training, and adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow cleaning schedules and checklists with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in warm or busy production areas.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Willingness to work full time onsite, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed to support bakery operations.
- Previous experience in a bakery or restaurant setting is an asset; high school diploma or equivalent education is preferred but not required.
