Role Description The Instrumentation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Lively, ON. In this position, the technician installs, calibrates, maintains, and repairs instrumentation and control equipment such as sensors, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves. Daily tasks include troubleshooting system faults, performing routine inspections, and assisting with commissioning of new automation projects.

The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals, collaborating with engineers and electricians. The technician may also support upgrades to existing systems and provide input on improving reliability and performance.

Qualifications





- Strong foundation in instrumentation, control systems, and industrial automation, including installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation devices.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and technical manuals, with solid mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA or DCS environments, and familiarity with field communication protocols (e.g., 4–20 mA, HART, Modbus) is an asset.
- Commitment to safety practices, regulatory compliance, and quality standards in industrial environments.
- Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time in a fast-paced setting.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Relevant technical diploma, trade certification, or apprenticeship in instrumentation or a closely related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Previous experience as an instrumentation technician or in a similar role within industrial or commercial settings is preferred.
