Position Summary

We are looking for an Intermediate OT Network Engineer/Technologist with a broad background in industrial OT environments and intermediate to advanced level experience with network design and cybersecurity. If you're chosen for this role, you'll join our team of highly skilled engineers and technologists to develop network, electrical, instrumentation, and controls designs to successfully deliver projects for our clients. Role and Responsibilities:

- Reporting to an Engineering Team Lead, the team member’s primary responsibility will be focusing on achieving project goals by collaborating with cross-discipline engineering teams.
- Prepare conceptual and detailed OT network and cybersecurity solutions, including scope of work, cost estimates, implementation plans, solution architecture, and design documents.
- Support the design and implementation of industrial OT networks, including network segmentation, switching, routing, firewalls, OT DMZs, and passive network visibility using TAP, SPAN, traffic aggregation, and serial monitoring technologies, in accordance with industrial control system standards and best practices.
- Participate in maintenance and setup of PCN networks, switches, servers, and firewalls as per recommended procedures and practices.
- Apply vendor approved anti-virus and Windows patches and hotfixes on a regular basis.
- Respond to emergency support requests to ensure cybersecurity and network issues are resolved on a priority basis to minimize impact to plant operations.
- Monitor third party security feeds, forums, and mailing lists to gather information on vulnerabilities, exploits, and produce actionable intelligence reports.
- Ensure that database backups are maintained as per procedures and disaster recovery plans. Ensure regular testing happens for risk management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain OT cybersecurity incident response plans and alert-response playbooks, including investigation steps,



severity classification, escalation paths, corrective actions, documentation requirements, and coordination among site operations, OT cybersecurity, and IT security teams.
- Ensure redundancy and stability of all critical network devices.
- Support OT security monitoring and integration with enterprise security operations, including evaluation or implementation of SIEM, SOAR, identity and access management, Single Sign-On, data flows, alarm escalation, and reporting between OT and IT security teams.
- Support the development of standardized, repeatable deployment practices for OT network and cybersecurity technologies across multiple industrial sites, including naming conventions, asset classification, configuration templates, site onboarding, commissioning, operational acceptance, lifecycle planning, and knowledge transfer.
- Maintain an understanding of the current state of client OT cybersecurity environments, including assets, communications, vulnerabilities, gaps, and risks. Develop risk-based monitoring strategies, rationalize and prioritize alerts, distinguish actionable alarms from informational events, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement without adversely affecting plant operations.
- Perform health assessments and security audits.
- Design, implementation, and commissioning of client facilities’ PLC systems as an integrated component of their process control systems.
- Review and develop Shutdown Keys, Cause & Effect diagrams, and Control Narratives.
- Develop and implement long term DCS/PLC system upgrades and maintenance plans.
- Participate in on-site information gathering and commissioning support.
- Participate in control system testing.
- Provide technical support to project team members, including assigning and tracking project deliverables by junior staff.
- Comply with all HS&E; requirements in the performance of this position’s responsibilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

- A technical diploma or university degree in a relevant discipline is required.
- Registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT), Qualified Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Licensee (P.L. (Eng.)) with APEGA or as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or Professional Technologist (P.Tech.(Eng.) with ASET.
- 5+ years of experience with ICS in a design role is required.
- 3+ years supporting cybersecurity and/or networks assets in an industrial operating facility.
- 3+ years of experience managing and deploying virtualized servers and workstations, enterprise server hardware, firewalls, system backup and recovery,



and virtual networking. Experience with virtual appliances, virtual switching, port mirroring, or SPAN configuration in VMware or comparable environments is an asset.
- 2+ years of experience configuring, deploying, or supporting network management and monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds and OT network detection and response platforms such as Nozomi Vantage, Central Management Console, and Guardian. Experience with asset discovery, baselining, alert tuning, dashboards, reporting, role-based access control, or multi-site onboarding is an asset.
- Relevant OT cybersecurity, networking, or vendor certifications are preferred, including ISA/IEC 62443, Cisco CCNA or CCNP, Nozomi Networks certification, GIAC, CISSP, or comparable credentials supported by practical industrial experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with PLC/DCS systems for industrial facilities, including the ability to develop new programs as well as make online and offline updates.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with and developing Shutdown Keys, Cause & Effect diagrams, and Control Narratives.
- Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper, or electrical power generation is required.
- Experience in delivering high quality customer service to a broad range of customers.

· Willingness to travel – travel to customer sites will be required (approximately 10%).

· Class 5 driver’s license.

· Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
