About the Company

Our client, a well-established and highly respected Toronto law firm, is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal assistant to support lawyers on a variety of complex litigation matters.

Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to lawyers and their practice
- Prepare, format, edit, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, motions, factums, and other legal documents
- Manage lawyer calendars, appointments, meetings, and deadlines
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical litigation files
- Prepare and coordinate court filings, service, and other procedural requirements
- Assist with preparation for discoveries, examinations, motions, mediations, and hearings
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties
- Prepare and organize document productions and litigation materials
- Track limitation periods, court dates, and other critical deadlines




- Assist with general administrative duties and provide support to the broader team as required

Requirements

- 3+ years of Legal Assistant experience in a litigation environment
- Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma
- Strong knowledge of Ontario court procedures and litigation processes
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proofreading and document formatting abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team

Compensation

- Salary up to $78,000, commensurate with experience
- Hybrid work from home schedule - 3 days in office
- Comprehensive benefits package
