Breast Reconstruction & General Reconstructive Surgery

One-Year Locum | Starting January 2027

We are seeking a Plastic Surgeon to provide one year of locum coverage for a busy reconstructive plastic surgery practice beginning January 2027 at the University of British Columbia. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative surgical program with a clinical practice focused predominantly on breast reconstruction, while also providing exposure to a broad range of reconstructive surgery.

The practice includes both immediate and delayed breast reconstruction, including implant-based and autologous reconstruction. The successful candidate will also participate in general reconstructive surgery, trauma care,



lymphatic reconstruction, and shared plastic surgery call coverage.

This position would be particularly well suited to a recently fellowship-trained reconstructive microsurgeon or an established plastic surgeon seeking a one-year clinical prospect within a high-volume reconstructive practice and interested in pursuing an academic career.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Applicants must have completed training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and be eligible for medical licensure and hospital privileges in British Columbia. Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent qualifications acceptable for provincial licensure, is required.

Training and experience in microsurgery and breast reconstruction are strongly preferred. Experience or additional training in lymphatic reconstruction would be an asset.
