Job Title: MongoDB Data Modeler / Data Engineer

Location: Toronto, Canada

We are seeking an experienced MongoDB Data Modeler / Data Engineer with strong expertise in MongoDB, JSON schema design, PySpark, SQL, and Azure Data Platforms to support enterprise data ingestion, modeling, and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain MongoDB data models, JSON schemas, and schema governance frameworks.
- Lead schema evolution, versioning, migration, indexing, and performance optimization activities.
- Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark, Spark SQL, and SQL.
- Build and support cloud-based data solutions using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Design and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, scalability, performance, and governance across enterprise data platforms.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Create technical documentation,



data models, and implementation standards.

Required Skills

- 5+ years of experience in MongoDB data modeling and JSON schema design.
- Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB, including schema design and performance optimization.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, PySpark, and Spark SQL.
- Experience building data ingestion, ETL/ELT, and cloud data pipelines.
- 2+ years of experience with Azure Cloud, including:
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Robust understanding of data architecture, data governance, and data quality practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with MongoDB Atlas on Azure.
- Knowledge of Kafka, Confluent, and Schema Registry.
- Expertise in MongoDB indexing, sharding, and performance tuning.
- Experience in Payments domain and ISO 20022 standards.
