POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Sales Manager, Western Canada we are looking for a National Account Manager to join the Western Canada team.
The National Account
Manager is responsible for developing and growing strategic client and agency relationships in Western Canada while creating integrated advertising and custom media solutions across Globe Media Group platforms. This role drives revenue growth through new business acquisition, account expansion, and the delivery of marketing solutions that achieve measurable business outcomes for clients. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, execute, and optimize multi-channel advertising programs while consistently achieving revenue targets.
This is an existing vacancy, and a hybrid role based in Vancouver. While preference will be given to candidates located in Vancouver, applicants based in Calgary are also encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, manage and grow client relationships at a senior level, including agency clients and client direct.
- Meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets while achieving key sales performance indicators (KPIs).
- Commitment to excellence in sales disciplines, including strategic account planning, pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities. Drive new business growth from new accounts and within existing accounts through expanded offerings and strategic partnerships.
- Apply a consultative sales approach to understand client objectives, uncover business insights, and recommend customized solutions.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop strategic solutions and deliver proposals that meet and exceed client needs and expectations
- Work with the Media Strategists, Content Studio, Product Team, Revenue Management, and Program managers to ensure quality in execution,
packaging and pricing.
- Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, and work with Ad Operations teams to optimize campaigns and improve client outcomes.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, campaign data and competitive intelligence to support revenue growth strategies in Western Canada.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Bachelor's degree or related College diploma and/or minimum 8 years of professional experience in Advertising, Marketing, Media Sales, or a related field.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales and revenue growth targets.
- Established relationships with senior agency and client-side media buyers in Western Canada.
- Strong strategic account planning skills to develop, retain and grow business
- Strong relationship building and business development skills.
- Experience in solution-based selling with the ability to identify and address client needs.
- Knowledge of digital marketing, data and programmatic advertising.
- Experience with forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willing to travel within Western Canada.
Preferred
- Experience working with agency clients and/or clients within Government, Education, Resources, and Financial Services sectors.
- Professional certification in Digital Marketing, Media Sales, Content Marketing, Advertising, or a related discipline.
- Experience in solution selling, content marketing and integrated solutions across print, digital, video, podcast and events
- Strong understanding of both B2B and B2C marketing environments.
SALARY: The base salary for this role ranges from $86,000 to $106,000 per year. Placement within this range depends on a candidate’s level of experience, technical skills, and alignment with the role’s requirements. Candidates who have been identified as meeting the role’s requirements can expect to be near the midpoint of this range, while the upper end is reserved for those with specialized expertise or a strong track record of success in comparable roles. This role may be eligible for The Globe’s Sales Incentive Plan, which is based on a combination of corporate and revenue objectives and rewards individual performance.
