Job Summary

Provide accurate preparation and dispensing of medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Support pharmacy operations including inventory management, record keeping, and customer service.

Main Duties

- Receive, review and process prescriptions, verifying accuracy and completeness against patient records.
- Prepare, label and package medications, including counting, measuring and compounding non-sterile preparations as required.
- Operate pharmacy dispensing software and maintain accurate electronic and paper medication and patient records.
- Manage inventory by ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, rotating stock and checking expiry dates.
- Assist pharmacists with customer service tasks, triage prescription-related inquiries and communicate with prescribers and insurers as needed.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, follow safety and aseptic procedures, and support documentation for regulatory compliance and audits.

Requirements

- Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician diploma or certificate program.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the provincial or territorial pharmacy regulatory authority.
- Minimum one year of pharmacy technician or related pharmacy experience preferred.
- Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing software and basic office computer applications.




- Solid attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and calculations.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and meet workplace requirements for handling medications and controlled substances.
