Role Description The People Manager role at Somi AI is a full-time, remote position responsible for fostering an inclusive, high-performing workplace across distributed teams. On a day-to-day basis, this role will coach and support team members, conduct regular check-ins and performance conversations, and help define clear goals and development plans.

The People

Manager will partner with leadership to design and improve people processes such as onboarding, feedback cycles, and career growth frameworks. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to address organizational needs, drive engagement initiatives, and support change management. The role also includes managing employee relations matters with empathy and fairness, monitoring team health and workload,



and using data and feedback to recommend improvements to culture, communication, and collaboration.

Qualifications

- Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Experience in organizational development, team building, and designing or refining people processes and frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, constructive feedback, and clear written and verbal communication in remote settings.
- Proven ability to work effectively in distributed, remote-first teams, with strong time management, prioritization, and self-direction.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, with experience supporting psychologically safe and respectful work environments.
- Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data (e.g., engagement surveys, performance metrics) to inform decisions and recommend improvements.
- Experience collaborating with HR or People Operations on topics such as hiring, onboarding, employee relations, and policy development.
- Background in technology, AI, or fast-paced startup environments is beneficial; prior experience managing cross-functional teams is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Organizational Development) or equivalent practical experience.
