Company Description Arts on the Ave is a registered non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to fostering artistic fellowship in the Alberta Avenue Arts District. The organization creates accessible opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds to experience community development and the joy of artistic expression. Through arts celebrations, signature festivals, food security, workshops, and ongoing traditions, Arts on the Ave nurtures vibrant, creative environments.
Role Description Public Health Support Intern is a part-time, on-site position based in Edmonton, AB. The intern will support the planning and implementation of community health initiatives connected to Arts on the Ave’s programs and festivals, including collecting and analyzing data related to community wellbeing and public engagement. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with public health-focused outreach activities, helping design and distribute educational materials, and supporting events hosted by Arts on the Ave.
Qualifications
- Candidate must currently be enrolled in a post-secondary institution
- Candidate must be a Canadian citizen
- Candidates should possess skills in Public Health and Community Health to support health-focused programming and outreach.
- Candidates should possess strong analytical Skills to lead the collection and reporting of community data and feedback.
- Candidates should possess effective communication skills, including explicit writing, presenting, and interpersonal communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Relevant coursework or training in public health, health promotion, research, or a related field is beneficial.
- Experience or interest in community-based work, arts or culture sectors, and non-profit environments is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for community members.
