Job Summary & Requirements The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, the College of Nurses (CNO), and all relevant legislation.

Education

- Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope
- Completion of recognized Medication Administration Course
- Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS
- Operating room course, essential
- CSAO course an asset
- Two (2) years clinical experience in active general OR

Experience

- Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession




- Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area
- Functions independently within scope of practice

- Excellent organizational skills
- Computer literacy in current software applications
