Your Role and Impact:
The Director - Instrumentation and Control provides leadership to the I&C; team through an engaging management approach, a clear vision for talent development, and active participation in business development initiatives. The incumbent ensures alignment between project performance, the growth of internal expertise, the quality of deliverables, and the strategic objectives of GCM.

- Establishes a medium- and long-term vision for the I&C; team that aligns with corporate objectives and the needs of the business units.
- Mobilizes resources around clear goals, disciplined execution, and a team-oriented culture.
- Develops the team's technical and interpersonal capabilities by promoting coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.
- Contributes to business development through technical credibility, a strong understanding of client needs, and active participation in service proposals.
- Serves as a technical authority and people leader for project teams, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, coach, and develop team members, including assistant directors, engineers, technicians, and discipline specialists.
- Oversee the profitability and successful execution of the project portfolio managed by the group's project managers.
- Establish and maintain a structured competency development strategy, including internal and external training needs.




- Ensure the quality of deliverables, compliance with discipline standards, and adherence to the Quality Management System.
- Participate in projects as needed to support teams, resolve challenges, and safeguard project performance.
- Manage resource planning, workload allocation, and the monitoring of the team's technical and financial performance.
- Contribute to business development activities, including the preparation and review of service proposals, fee estimates, and technical support for client relationships.
- Define the priorities, objectives, and action plans for the I&C; team in alignment with the overall engineering vision and project requirements.
- Identify hiring needs based on the projected backlog and workload forecast, and participate in candidate interviews, selection, and hiring approvals.
- Foster a positive, engaging work environment that reflects and reinforces GCM's values.

Desired Profile:

- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Instrumentation and Control within an industrial environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading and managing engineering teams.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects is considered an asset.
- Experience in the consulting engineering industry is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in both French and English is required, as the successful candidate will collaborate, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and clients outside of Québec.
