S2627-72 Early Childhood Educator - Cold Lake Elementary School

We are seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Early Childhood Educator commencing as soon as possible in Preschool. The assignment involves working from 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday and includes assisting in implementing the effective day to day operations of the program, ensuring appropriate supervision, smooth transitions, and consistent routines.

Cold Lake Elementary School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 350 students in grades PreK to 3. Throughout the school year, continued involvement and support from parents, teachers and all staff support the school' mission: "At Cold Lake Elementary, we cherish and nurture the whole child through education with a heart".

Preference will be given to applicants who have:

- Solid analytical,



decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with NLPS program philosophies, policies, and operational procedures
- Working knowledge of Alberta Childcare Licensing Regulations
- Extensive understanding of child development theories and best practices
- Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Knowledge and experience working in an early childhood or school-aged care setting
- First Aid Certification
- Level 2 or 3 Early Child Care Certificate

The Role the Early Childhood Educator may include:

- Developing and implementing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate program for children and students to ensure smooth and consistent routines
- Upholding the program's philosophy, policies, and procedures in all daily practices
- Maintaining confidentiality in all matters involving children, students, families, and staff
- Ensuring all children and students are supervised at all times and accounted for during transitions and activities
- Providing leadership, guidance, and performance input for the Early Childhood Assistant
