Do you enjoy working with people and want to make a difference for the taxpayers of New Brunswick? The Office of the Comptroller is seeking two individuals to join the team as a Senior Auditor/Consultant working in Fredericton.
WHAT WE DO:
The Office of the Comptroller provides leadership in accounting, internal auditing and consulting services to government departments and agencies and encourages the effective management of the resources of the Province.
The position of Senior Auditor/Consultant will work with government departments in reviewing practices and processes to ensure value for money is being achieved.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
As Senior Auditor/Consultant, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Planning, executing, and overseeing financial, operational, compliance, IT, fraud and value‑for‑money reviews.
- Assessing adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and identifying areas for improvement.
- Assessing controls to ensure they support cost‑effective operations, prevent waste, and align with efficient service delivery.
- Examine financial records, operational procedures, and systems for accuracy and consistency.
- Assessing compliance with internal policies, laws, and regulations.
- Preparing detailed audit reports outlining findings, conclusions, and actionable recommendations.
- Working with management to develop action plans and strengthen internal processes.
- Guiding and mentoring junior auditors.
- Managing, conducting, and consulting on various reviews and projects
MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics or other related discipline
- Certification from one of the following three programs: Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
Program, the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Program, or the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) Program with a minimum of 6 years’ relevant work experience
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

GREAT TO HAVE:
Preference may be given to candidates who are bilingual and/or demonstrate the following experience:
- Experience in project management
- IT audit experience
- Experience with data analytics
- Solid working knowledge of government
- Experience providing recommendations for organizational improvements
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.

Salary: PB 06 - $3,051 to $4,059 bi-weekly
