Senior Business Analyst – Trade Support (FTL / Repo & Securities Lending)

Duration: 4–6 months contract, with potential transition to full time within 6–12 months

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst – Trade Support to join the Funding, Treasury and Liquidity (FTL) Program. This hybrid role combines traditional Business Analysis responsibilities with hands-on Front Office and Back Office Trade Support.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Product Owner, traders, technology teams, and senior stakeholders as part of a global development team. The role will focus on Pre-Trade and Post-Trade functions within the Central Funding Group, supporting FIS Apex and ATOM, a greenfield global front-office analytics, risk, and trade order management platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver enhancements and functional improvements across FIS Apex and ATOM.
- Provide 1st and 2nd line trade support to traders and back-office users.
- Investigate and resolve trade lifecycle issues, including:
- Trade booking errors
- Settlement breaks
- Collateral disputes
- Trade exceptions and incidents
- Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and coordinate permanent fixes with technology teams.
- Support Repo and Securities Lending trade lifecycles across Front Office, Settlements, and Collateral Management.
- Gather and document business requirements through workshops and ad-hoc sessions with Front Office users.
- Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for development teams.
- Explain technical issues, system constraints, and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate throughout the SDLC, from requirements gathering through testing, validation, and production deployment.
- Review and sign off on test results prior to deployment.




- Develop data-driven reports and dashboards to monitor trade-support metrics, recurring issues, and operational trends.
- Collaborate with traders, senior leadership, Product Owners, developers, QA teams, and global stakeholders across multiple time zones.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the trade-support function.
- Leverage Python, SQL, and AI-powered tools such as Copilot-style assistants to accelerate scripting, query development, data analysis, and root-cause investigations.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst supporting both Front Office and Back Office teams.
- Strong experience gathering and documenting requirements from Front Office users.
- In-depth understanding of the Repo and Securities Lending markets.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Repo trading
- Securities Lending
- Settlements
- Collateral Management
- Trade lifecycle processes
- Hands-on experience with a Repo trading platform.
- Experience translating complex business requirements into technical specifications for developers.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts, system limitations, and solutions effectively to business users.
- Strong experience in trade support, incident management, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a geographically distributed global team.
- Strong technical proficiency with SQL and/or Python scripting.
- Experience performing data analysis and investigating production/trade-level issues.
- Practical experience using AI-powered development/productivity tools such as Copilot or similar assistants.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

- Understanding of different P&L; valuation methodologies.
- Knowledge of financial risk calculation methods.
- Understanding of FIS Apex infrastructure and architecture.
- Experience working with ATOM or similar Front Office analytics/trading platforms.
- Experience supporting global Capital Markets, Treasury, Funding, or Liquidity programs.
