ABOUT ANODYNE

Anodyne is a multi-line specialty chemicals company pioneering bioelectric manufacturing: chemical production inspired by nature, accelerated by AI and powered by electrons. Founded in 2021 in Burnaby, BC, we are a ~25-person team backed by national and international investors. Our first industrial pilot is producing, we have paying customers and signed co-development agreements, and we are preparing a Series A to fund the step to first commercial deployment.

THE ROLE

This is the senior-most finance seat at Anodyne. You will own our capital strategy end to end — how we raise capital, how we structure it and where we deploy it — across equity, non-dilutive funding, project finance and commercial revenue.

We are not looking for someone to run finance. We want an entrepreneurial builder who treats the finance function as a competitive advantage: sharper capital allocation, a lower blended cost of capital, and faster, better-informed decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Capital strategy & allocation

- Set the capital plan and allocation framework across product lines, pilot operations and commercial deployment, so every dollar is tied to a milestone, a return hurdle or a risk it retires.
- Be the CEO’s strategic partner and the board’s source of truth on burn, runway, valuation and financial performance.

Fundraising & investor relations

- Lead the Series A with the CEO — equity story, financial model, diligence and negotiation — and build the investor relationships that carry us through future rounds and, in time, strategic transactions.

Project & structured finance

- Design and close the financing for our first commercial plant: equipment and debt finance, offtake-backed structures,



project vehicles and strategic-partner capital. Lead negotiations with lenders, partners and consortiums.

Non-dilutive capital

- Run non-dilutive funding as capital strategy, not administration. Sequencing tax credits (SR&ED;, Canadian investment tax credits), repayable contributions and grants to extend runway and minimize dilution.

The finance function

- Lead and scale the finance and operations team, and optimize how it works: automation, AI-enabled forecasting and reporting, and systems that scale without over-building.
- Hold accountability for controls, treasury, audit, tax and revenue operations, including our e-commerce order-to-cash.

YOUR TEAM

You will not be starting from zero. Our Controller already runs a robust finance and operations engine — monthly close, payables and collections, treasury operations, audit and statutory filings, payroll and reporting on our non-dilutive programs, supported by a Finance & Operations Assistant. We work with established external accountants, auditors and legal counsel.

That leaves you focused to spend your time on capital strategy and deal-making from day one, while shaping how the function grows.

WHO YOU ARE

Entrepreneurial. You have built something, a finance function, a company, a novel financing structure, and you see finance as a lever on strategy, not a cost centre.

Broad capital experience.



Hands-on across equity fundraising, project or structured finance, and non-dilutive funding; you have led and closed deals, not just supported them. [10+] years, ideally in industrial, energy, chemicals or deeptech.

Commercially numerate. You can work from a techno-economic model, challenge capex and cost assumptions on a consistent basis, and turn engineering outputs into an investable story.

Canadian fluency. Working knowledge of CCPC rules, SR&ED; and Canadian investment tax credits strongly preferred.

Boardroom-credible. Trusted by investors, lenders and a board; you make complex financial positions simple.

High-trust operator. Low ego, high ownership, comfortable with ambiguity and pace.
