Role Description The Senior Financial Accountant is accountable for monthly group close and consolidation activities, maintenance of accounting issue log, quarterly financial statement and note disclosure preparation, preparation of MD&A;, NR and other external reporting requirements (e.g., ESTMA report) and preparation of some complex accounting schedules.

Primary

- Manages month, quarter, and year-end group close and consolidation activities and communicates timelines and procedures to business
- Maintains accounting issue log and supports training for group accounting policies & guidance, and reporting requirements
- Reviews intercompany reconciliations and posts consolidation entries, includes review of intercompany funding/distributions
- Prepares quarterly and annual financial statements, both face & note disclosures
- Prepares MD&A;, quarterly results news releases and other regulatory reporting (e.g., ESTMA report) when required
- Review of monthly site reporting packages/AFS and works with sites to resolve issues
- Prepares of monthly combined reporting package & analysis
- Reviews quarterly CGU carrying values




- Reviews site ARO calculations
- Review of annual financial statements for all DPM entities
- Review significant contracts for all DPM entities for accounting purposes
- Prepares accounting questionnaire review, FS disclosure and compliance checklists
- Reviews the quarterly external audit fee schedule
- Ensures ICFR for Consolidation & Reporting activities

Secondary

- Remains well-informed of new IFRS standards & other regulatory requirements
- Supports analysis and activities related to new IFRS implementations
- Supports accounting analysis for recent complex transactions (e.g., PPA)
- Supports preparation of audit memos, as required
- Analyzes impact of integration of recent assets for consolidation & reporting purposes
- Key liaison for internal and external audits
- Completes ad-hoc analysis and projects

Qualifications

- Strong IFRS/technical accounting knowledge, methodologies, and processes
- Knowledge of accounting applications and software is preferred
- Knowledge of complex accounting standards, statutory reporting, ICFR compliance, project accounting, & accounting advisory
- Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Expertise in financial consolidations
- Bachelor’s degree/certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related fields
- 3+ years of related experience either in industry or a public accounting firm (preferably in a supervisory role)
- Mining industry experience is an asset but not mandatory
- CPA or relevant designation/certification
