Hands-On Growth Role | Remote | US$1,100-2,000/Month

We are looking for a proven social media growth specialist who has personally grown consumer-facing accounts and can show us the results.

Ocean Island Inn (https://www.oceanisland.com/) is an independent accommodation in downtown Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. We are looking for someone to join our team and take ownership of growing our organic social media across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. You will work directly with our Victoria-based marketing person and videographer.

We already have footage, photos, local knowledge and people on the ground. You bring the growth strategy, creative ideas and hands-on execution.

What you'll do

Develop and execute our organic social growth strategy.

Create concepts, hooks, scripts, captions and content with input from our local team.

Create and edit content.

Test, learn, optimize and scale successful ideas.

Discuss creative ideas with the team to get to the best outcome.

Track audience growth, engagement, website traffic and booking-related results where measurable.

What we're looking for

Proven results are essential.

We want someone who can show us an account they personally helped grow, including:

Starting numbers → current/final numbers → timeframe → what you personally did → results

We care more about demonstrated results and creative thinking than job titles or years of experience.

You understand traveler culture, as well as marketing for a local, Indie company with a unique character.

You should be solid in:





Short-form video • Hooks • Storytelling • Audience psychology • Trends • Testing

Experience with travel, hospitality, tourism or lifestyle brands is a strong plus. Paid social experience is a bonus, but organic growth is our priority.

We don't want generic hotel marketing. We want content that feels human, entertaining and worth sharing, covering Ocean Island Inn, Victoria, local businesses, food, nature, travel and real experiences.

Paid trial

We will start with a paid trial using real Ocean Island Inn footage.

We want to see your thinking as well as your execution: the hook, target audience, creative idea, why you expect it to work, what you would test next and how you would measure success.

If the fit is right, we'll continue with additional paid work and an ongoing contract. A visit to our property at some point would also be ideal.
