Description: PSY220H5 S - Introduction to Social Psychology A survey of classic and contemporary research in social psychology. Topics include the self, social cognition, attitudes, social influence, relationships, emotions, culture, stereotyping, altruism and aggression.

Prerequisites: PSY100Y5

Exclusions: PSY220H1 or PSYB10H3

Estimated course enrolment: 115

Estimated TA support: 125 hours

Class schedule: In-person on Wednesday from 12:00 to 15:00 (See ttb.utoronto.ca)

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2027 - April 30, 2027

Salary (In accordance with CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement):

$9,997.48 for Sessional Lecturer I

$10,699.22 for Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term

$10,699.22 for Sessional Lecturer II

$10,953.96 for Sessional Lecturer II - Long Term

$10,953.96 for Sessional Lecturer Ill

$11,228.90 for Sessional Lecturer III - Long Term

Stipend rates are inclusive of vacation pay. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Qualifications: The candidate must have a Ph.D degree or be in the final stages of a PhD. The decision on hiring will be based on previous teaching experience in this course or other similar courses, academic qualifications and suitability for the position.

Description of duties:



Preparation and delivery of course content; creation of course material, development and administration of assignments, tests and examinations; the supervision of teaching assistants for leading tutorials,

grading and marking student work; submission of final grades to appropriate University officials in accordance with policy; the maintenance of reasonable hours for student contact outside of scheduled contact hours.
