Reporting to the unit manager, the Social Work III functions as a member of the Community Addiction and Mental Health Clinic (CAMHC) – South Services interdisciplinary team. As a primary therapist, the SW III provides assessment and targeted time-limited goal-focused therapy for clients with moderate to severe mental health disorders. At this time, this position entails working at or out of the South Calgary Health Centre, South Health Campus, or both sites.

Description:

As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work.Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree required.Authorization to perform restricted psychosocial interventions (ACSW).Minimum of 2 years recent experience within the last 5 years in an adult community clinic mental health therapy setting.Adult Individual and group therapy experience.Adult mental health assessment and crisis stabilization experience.Training and therapy experience in MI, DBT and Trauma focused care with an adult population.

Preferred Qualifications:

Training and experience in goal focused episodic care and the recovery model.Basic knowledge of DSM 5, medical co-morbidities and psychotropic medications.Discharge planning experience, including knowledge of Calgary zone addiction and mental health resources.NVCI. BLS.
