Commercial Safety College is currently seeking a qualified, experienced Class 1 driver to join our team in the position of - Truck Driving Instructor

Work Setting and Company Culture

- An established private career college, operating since 1959.

- A proven industry leader in truck driver, bus driver, and heavy equipment operator training

- Instructor training is provided prior to instructing independently

- 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Thursday with the opportunity for additional hours.

- Position is based in Masstown, Nova Scotia (10 minutes from Truro, NS)

Duties and Responsibilities

- Instruct inexperienced drivers to an entry level standard for Class 1 Tractor Trailer, Class 3 Straight Truck.

- Follow course guidelines and industry best practices

- Conduct performance evaluations to ensure progress, competency

- Candidate should be willing to travel as needed

- Candidate should be comfortable working both independently and in a team atmosphere

Required Work Experience & Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years (60 months) of verifiable Class 1 driving experience

- Grade 12 education or G.E.D. preferred, but not essential





- Excellent communication skills

- Candidates with previous training / evaluating experience will be given priority consideration

- Acceptable driver's abstract

- Acceptable criminal record search
