Job Summary:

The Print Operator will assist in large format, small format, and CAD printing and finishing. They will work closely with the Production Manager, Pre-Press, and Coordinator to ensure jobs are done correctly and on time.

Major Responsibilities

- Co-ordinate with Production Manager to produce and prioritize jobs
- Scanning to file of hardcopy drawings and small format documents
- Become proficient with application software
- Operate a variety of wide format, flat bed, and digital printers
- Accurately record time and material using timesheets
- Trouble-shoot rip and proof problems
- Be aware and capable of all Calibration procedures for all proofs
- Take an active role in quality management and process improvement
- Proof finished product for any errors and provide final quality check prior to packaging
- Ensure that packaging is completed as per transmittals / instructions
- Manual collation of various materials as necessary
- Monitor and ensure quality of finished pieces and kitted materials
- Accurately and neatly package finished product for delivery or distribution




- Maintain cleanliness of work area and department

Qualifications:

Required

- Solid communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Organized, with a sense of urgency and the ability to manage competing priorities
- On-site position at the Ottawa branch

Considered an Asset

- 1+ years of experience in the print industry
- Working knowledge of print specifications, stocks, equipment, and production processes
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule with occasional overtime when needed
