Overview

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Bread & Specialty Baker to prepare a varied selection of fresh baked goods for our customers. This role focuses primarily on producing breads, along with muffins, cupcakes, cakes, and other specialty baked items.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, following established recipes and production schedules, and maintaining consistent quality, flavour, appearance, and portion size. This is a hands-on production role suited to someone who takes pride in their baking, works efficiently, and understands the importance of cleanliness, organization, and reliability in a busy kitchen.

The Bread & Specialty Baker works alongside our Pastry Chef while having a distinct area of responsibility within the bakery. The role requires careful planning and time management to ensure products are prepared, baked, finished, and ready when needed.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and bake a diverse range of bread, pastries, and specialty baked items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Decorate cakes and other baked goods with precision and creativity, ensuring visual appeal that excites customers




- Maintain proper food handling practices to ensure safety and hygiene throughout all stages of food preparation and packaging
- Assist with food preparation tasks in the kitchen, supporting overall kitchen operations and efficiency
- Uphold food safety regulations by monitoring cleanliness, temperature controls, and storage procedures in compliance with health standards
- Provide excellent customer service by offering product knowledge and responding to customer inquiries with enthusiasm

Experience

- Previous experience working in a bakery, restaurant, or food service environment is highly preferred
- Skilled in cake decorating techniques with an eye for detail and artistic flair
- Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking, baking, and food handling procedures
- Knowledge of kitchen safety protocols and food industry best practices
- Experience working in a team-oriented setting where attention to detail is essential

Pay: From $18.75 per hour
