From rescue to recovery, fire fighters have answered the call to support burn survivors across BC and the Yukon since 1978. Established by the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Association, the Burn Fund is dedicated to supporting burn survivors throughout every step of their recovery. From enhancing survivor care at BC’s trauma hospitals to providing emotional support for survivors of all ages, the Burn Fund empowers and supports burn survivors and their families while helping build resilience throughout the recovery journey.

More than 5,000 professional fire fighters from 56 communities across BC and the Yukon champion the Burn Fund’s vision. They dedicate their time and expertise to supporting burn survivors and increasing public awareness of fire and burn prevention. The Burn Fund also supports these firefighters through mental health and wellness initiatives, as well as the Home Away Program.

The Burn Fund is recruiting for a one-year, fixed-term Program Support Specialist. This role will focus on conducting psychosocial assessments, coordinating program resources, supporting survivors with system navigation and connecting with resources, and contributing to the ongoing expansion and development of Burn Fund programs.

The Program Support Specialist is a one-year, fixed-term employment position based at the Burn Fund Centre in Vancouver.



The successful candidate will work in a professional office environment and receive comprehensive support for training and ongoing professional development. The position also includes an employee benefits package.

The annual salary for the duration of the fixed-term contract will range from $55,000 to $65,000, based on a 37.5-hour work week. A Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), or equivalent is preferred.

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Program Support Specialist will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the provincial charity serving the professional fire fighters of British Columbia and the Yukon. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Burn Fund during an important period of growth and expansion of its programs and services.

While this position is initially offered as a one-year fixed-term contract, there is potential for the role to transition into an ongoing, full-time position in the future.
