Position Summary :

This posting is for an existing vacancy.

We are looking for dependable Salty truck driver to join our winter operations team in Welland Area .

You will be responsible for operating a salt truck to safely salt and maintain designated commercial and municipal properties before, during, and after winter weather events, including snow and ice conditions. This position requires secure commercial driving in snow, ice, cold temperatures, and changing road conditions, while following assigned routes and maintaining safe and effective salt application.

This is an on-call winter position, and employees must be available 24/7 during winter weather events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What You'll Do :

- Monitor weather conditions and respond to winter events as required.
- Operate a salt truck to salt designated commercial and municipal properties before, during,



and after winter weather events.
- Drive safely in snow, ice, cold temperatures, and changing winter road conditions.
- Follow assigned routes and ensure salt is applied safely and effectively to designated areas.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any equipment or vehicle issues.
- Follow direction from the Crew Lead / Supervisor and work safely around pedestrians, parked vehicles, other equipment, and road traffic.
- Assist with other winter maintenance duties as required.

What We're Looking For:

- Minimum 2–4 years of commercial winter driving experience is an asset.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Previous commercial driving, salt truck, snow removal, or winter maintenance experience is required.
- Ability to safely operate a salt truck in snow, ice, cold temperatures, and changing road conditions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation to and from the assigned yard location.
- Ability to work outdoors and remain focused during extended winter shifts.
- Ability to be on call 24/7 for winter weather events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation :

- $24+ per hour, depending on experience,



position, and reliability.
- Standby bonus available throughout the winter season for eligible employees.
