Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for aGolang Developer-Banking. The successful candidate will provide hands-on backend development and technical leadership for a legacy Capital Markets payment application, primarily using Golang. This position offers a unique opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of application development, support ongoing maintenance, and mentor team members, ensuring high standards of code quality and security.

Pay rate range (CAD): $$76.09/hr-$91.30/hr

Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications using Golang

Take ownership of development deliverables from requirements analysis through testing and deployment

Understand existing system architecture, dependencies, and business domain supported by the application

Provide hands-on support during development, testing, integration, and deployment phases

Independently lead smaller projects or application initiatives

Provide technical direction, mentorship, and guidance to team members

Develop comprehensive unit test suites following Test-Driven Development principles

Apply clean code practices and established development standards

Use static analysis and security scanning tools like Snyk and SonarQube to ensure code quality and security

Collaborate with stakeholders across development, testing, security, and delivery teams

Stay informed about and interested in AI-assisted and AI-driven development tools and practices

Desired Skill-Set





6-8 years of overall software development experience

Minimum two to three years of hands-on Golang (Go) development experience

Strong backend application development skills

Proven experience providing technical guidance or mentorship to development teams

Extensive knowledge of Test-Driven Development methodology

Experience writing and maintaining unit tests

Familiarity with static code analysis and security/vulnerability scanning tools like Snyk and SonarQube

Excellent ownership and accountability abilities

Clear verbal and written communication skills

Proactive, self-directed, and team-oriented working style

Nice to Have

Awareness of and interest in AI-assisted or AI-driven software development tools and practices

Exposure to payment applications, foreign exchange platforms, or Capital Markets technology environments
