ThisFull-Timesummer contractposition within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’sDay Camplocations inSudbruy YMCA, Kivi Park, Walden Cross Countryas well as Espanola and Elliot Lake.Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Recreational Programming and Day Camps or Genereal Manager of Camping, the Day Camp Counsellor is responsible for program planning and delivery to ensure participant satisfaction.Rate of Pay: Starting at $17.60/hourHours: Up to 40 hours per weekMajor ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver daily programs: group games, crafts, swimming, outside time, etc.Supervise, engage with, and participate with participants in group activities.Apply behavior management training techniques with participants.Communicate with all staff.Ensure the safety of all participants, property, staff,



and volunteers by established practices and procedures.Maintain the inventory of required supplies and request more when needed.Welcome all children to programs.Represent the YMCA in a professional manner at all times.Communicate with parents on a daily basis.Track daily attendance.Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization.QualificationsPossession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) preferred.Experience working/leading group activities with children ages 3 to 12 years.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills.Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification.Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check.All applicants are thanked for their interest in this position.
